Today, I can now relax and enjoy the fruits of my effort in publishing a book. All I can say is that, it is not an easy journey with many ups and downs. Second Proof Copy Arrives!!!!!!

The second proof copy of my book arrives today through express services. I was glad that all the necessary changes and ammendments were done to my specifications and instruction. I then, signed-off the approval form and adviced the publisher that the book is good to go.

Looking forward for it to be available through the major books outlets and major books internet sites under the ISBN 1425109047

Revised Manuscript Arrives Canada.

Received an email from the publisher that the revised manuscript is in their hands and will do the needy for the second proof. Cross-checked with DHL web-tracking page and confirm, item received and signed.

Now eagerly awaits the second proof prototype and expect to receive it within the next couple of weeks....

Revised Manuscript Couriered!

Spent couple of days, re-doing the back cover and correcting some typo errors, the book block is now complete. This evening manage to courier the revision to the publisher for the production of a second proof. Hope I am able to meet the schedule and no more revisions is necessary.

Proof Copy Arrives!!!!!

Received the proof copy in the form of book prototype for my review and approval. At the first glance, everything seems ok. However, after looking at it thoroughly, there were amendments that needs to be done. Only 1 was the publisher's error and the rest were mine.... damn!!!!

Need to redo some of the typo errors and re-generate the book block again. Although I'm working hard to get it ready before Christmas, by the look of it, I might be able to make; provided everything goes on smoothly from next week onwards. Busy with the amendments from now on...

Recieved an air mail today notifying that the prepress is goining as per schedule. My book, TRAPPED IN BETWEEN: Realities of the project world is now official and has been assigned an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) 1-4251-0904-7.

PRODUCTION PROCESS - PRE PRESS

Received another update from my publisher today.

The manuscript has entered the initial production process. They are now looking at the pre-press making sure the layout, covers and other necessary items being looked into.... With me here in Malaysia, it is very challenging working with a Canadian publisher that is located across the other side of the continent. Thanks to modern technology, a lot of transactions can be done on-line although the time zone can be a bit of an issue. However, like always, I'm very excited on this projected...

Best news today as my birthday present. Got an email saying that the publisher is doing all the necessary as they have received the manuscript. Cant wait to see the final proof before mass printing. Check with DHL tracking webpage, confirmed receive signed-off....

Manuscript SENT

Finally today, I have sucessfully send the CD containing the manuscript and images required for the cover design. Hope to recieve the final proof from the publisher by next couple of weeks. The whole publsihing process may take upto 6 weeks and in view of the comming festive season, I was told that the printers will be very busy with alot of pusblishing schedules.

Hope mine will be out in time for Christmas shopping....

Was kindda busy with client's photoshoot, image processing and delivery, where I have to set my book project aside. Oh yea... I did mentioned in my profile that I took photography as a serious activities. right? Some of my work can be viewed here at:

Anyways, today, I finally managed to complete the whole editing, re-read and reformating the manuscript based on the publisher's guidelines. I am now ready to burn everyting onto the CD and sent it to them with the signed contract.

Wooossshhh.... what a relieve, that was!

After completeting my manuscript, I have requested a good friend of mine ZA to run through the book for error. After 3 weeks. I manage to recieve the results.... WoW, there seems to be heavy editing that needs to be done. Now back to the PC

But I'm glad ZA was sincere and honest in her reviews and I am grateful to her for that.

After almost a year, Today I finally manage to submit the first draft to the publisher. The next stage will be the book filter meeting by the publisher and hope to recieve a favourable response. I'm Praying hard for it to be accepted with minor corrections, if any.

Book Title

After spending more than 20 years working on various change programs and projects, locally and overseas; I have decided to write a book on my project experiences. Most of the books available in the market were focused on technical areas such as engineering, construction and software development but not many dare to write or publish books for areas involving services. Again I could be wrong.

Many of us out there thought that by attending just one semester on project management during our degree program make us understand or know project management. Believe you me, that the world of project realities is never as what you and I have learned in the classroom.

We can consider ourselves lucky if we were to be assigned to start or initiate a fresh new program/project. But most often than not, we were assigned either mid-way or to clean up a mess (project) that was created by somebody else; and this were not frequently emphasize in school.

I have drafted my manuscript for my book and although it is still in the draft state, I'm looking, thinking and brainstorming like crazy for a suitable book title.
